Der Spiegel 1997

Category: Books + Newspapers

Designer: Uwe Beyer

Year: 1997

Uwe’s Beyer’s redesign of Germany’s Der Spiegel weekly magazine hit the newsstands at the beginning of 1997. Luc(as) designed a bold condensed font for Der Spiegel, which you can see in these photographs. That Spiegel Headline font was quickly expanded into a family of sans serifs called Spiegel Sans, which unlike Spiegel Headline are available for anyone to license. For more information about Luc(as)’s fonts for Der Spiegel, check out this case study.
